About Brevard Outpatient Alternative Treatment
Brevard Outpatient Alternative Treatment is a State Licensed Drug and Alcohol treatment facility, specializing in providing Structured Outpatient Treatment for adolescents, adults and families. B.O.A.T. works to provide comprehensive services to the community of Brevard, assisting individuals to recover and maintain a healthy and productive life.
B.O.A.T. was founded in 1980 as Brevard Outpatient Alternative Treatment eventually becoming Progressive Counselling Centers, Inc. by CEO John W. Holdsworth, M.S., to assist adolescents who were falling through the cracks. The philosophy of the program is to provide a realistic- and performance-based approach in dealing with adolescents, adults and families. Mr. Holdsworth has been in the field since 1975 with extensive background in inpatient and outpatient treatment. He has been a trainer for FADAA and NAADAC and has been involved in community programs.
Gwen Mundorf has been working in the field since 2007 and is a Florida licensed and certified social worker. She has extensive experience in Substance Abuse and Mental Health with both adolescents and adults. Gwen is the program director of B.O.A.T.

Brevard Outpatient Alternative Treatment (B.O.A.T.) has been successfully treating adolescents, adults and families in its structured intensive outpatient programs since 1980. B.O.A.T. is a State Licensed Drug and Alcohol treatment facility offering a variety of specialized programs including:

- Adolescent Substance Abuse
- Adult Mental Health
- Adolescent Mental Health
- DUI Group and Individual Therapy
- Adolescent Behavioral Problems
- IPN/PRN
- Anger Management
Our full range of therapeutic services enables B.O.A.T. to provide results-oriented individualized treatment. The various populations that we serve include adolescent, adult, families, dual diagnosis and court-ordered clients. Additional services provided include individual and group therapy, random drug screens, comprehensive treatment planning, psychosocial assessments, substance abuse evaluations, relapse prevention and continuing care. Most insurances are accepted. Funding is available to eligible individuals through Children's Home Society, Brevard C.A.R.E.S. and Human Service Associates.
